Bringin 'Em Back

I just love these movies. And I have no shame in saying that I am 21 years old and still watch them. You should too.

Watch them. You know you want to.

This Is Not A Depressing Post

First off, I would like to sincerely apologize for my previous blog. It was a little more serious than my usual posts and apparently some people could not handle it. One of my other very good blogging friends, Anna Raun (check her out at http://apicturethis.blogspot.com/, seriously do it she's good), told me that blogs are a good place to vent, and seeing as how I had never written a serious blog and only tend to ramble about my incredibly awesome life, I decided I would switch it up a little, keep things interesting. But I gotta keep my peeps happy, so I'll keep my posts lighthearted from now on, unless I feel like venting, then just don't read it ok?

Today is November 12. I can't believe it. Where the heck did this semester go? It seems like yesterday I was looking at my syllabus and stressing over everything I had to get done for all of my classes...oh wait that was yesterday. But seriously, the time has flown. In a week and a half it will be Turkey day, and then in another few weeks it will be Whitley's graduation and Christmas! Woah! Oh silly me how could I forget, my birthday is also very very soon. The big 2-1. Don't worry mom, I won't turn into an alcoholic. This is the cake I want, minus Bub and Roach. What kind of names are those? Poor guys.

Tonight, I am going to the Project Sunshine talent show. I don't think I've mentioned Project Sunshine in my blog before and I think it is time. P-Sun (I can shorten the name because I'm a member) is an organization here at A&M that works with children that have special needs. So far we have had soccer games, pic-nics, a Halloween carnival, and tonight is the talent show! I really love being a part of this group. The kids get so excited at all of our events, and it really makes me happy to see them having fun. The cutest Luigi ever at the Halloween Carnival!

I think a BIG congrats is in order for my dad, Coach Bob Gillis, for being the coach of the undefeated district champs this year! He's the president of the Texas High School Coaches Association, obviously his team is better than yours. (yeah that comment is for all the other coaches who read my blog) The birds will be playing their first playoff game this Saturday at 1:00 PM in Angleton, TX against La Marque. Just because La Marque has a big fancy band that can play all kinds of ghetto music, and dance around on the field, and do back bends until their heads touch the ground does not mean their football team can beat the Birds. La Marque is going down. Scariest mascot ever. Be afraid La Marque, be very afraid.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Stay warm, stay safe, stay awesome.

It's For The Best

Is it really? Is it for the best? If it is, then why does it still suck? People use this excuse all the time to get out of owning up the real reasons why things don't work out. I know I've said it before, but it never really bothered my until recently. I never understood why anybody I told that too didn't understand what I meant by it. Maybe it is because I was always the one that thought whatever I was doing was for the best, and didn't really care what the other person thought about it. The roles have somewhat switched now. Some things in my life have ended, just because it's for the best. No other reasons at all, just because it's the best thing to do. Well you know what? That reason is dumb.

On a brighter note, this weekend is Halloween! Hope everyone has their scary masks, and clown wigs, and trick-or-treat bags ready to go. But don't come to my house, we are in college, we can't afford to buy candy for the neighborhood. Have a faBOOOOOlous weekend.

I'm Back!

It's been forever, I know. But I'm not going to get into why, because in every blog I begin with how stressful my life is and I'm not doing that this time. Why you ask? Because there is too much good stuff going on! Babies, weddings, birthdays, family, and friends...woah that is one awesome list right there. Read on blog followers, you won't be disappointed.

Two of my roommates are now legally allowed to consume alcohol not just at home, but in public places. Kinsey had her first legal drink on October 7, and Megan had hers October 13. It has been very busy around my house with all the birthday celebrations we have been having. Last week, we went to Northgate for Kinsey's birthday where she got to go into the 21 and up bars for the very first time. Unfortunately, I cannot give any details of what she did in these bars or how they look or what types of people she talked to because I was sitting on a bench outside of the bar, looking lonely and very much like a 20 year old. Oh well, she had fun and that is all that matters.
The birthday girl, looking fab.
Most awesome roommates in College Station.

My bestie, Megan Beth Smith, also is now 21! We celebrated yesterday with an amazing song/dance in our kitchen, a "cookie cake", and dinner at Los Cucos. It was a great day, but we will do the real celebrating Saturday night. I was especially happy on Meggie's birthday because if she hadn't been born I would not have a best friend. I mean sure, I probably would have found somebody else because everyone wants to be my friend, but I don't see anybody else wanting to ride around and jam to Billy Gillman. Here is a pic of the birthday girl getting carded for the very first time, and with her first alcoholic beverage. It was a huge moment for us!

Easton is 2 months old now, and still the cutest baby in America. And maybe I'm a little bias, but a lot of people agree with me so its the truth. Last weekend the little stud muffin became an official Ricebird. He went to his very first pep rally, and let me just say I think he had the most spirit there. He was high fiving the football players and doing flips with the cheerleaders, we were all so proud. That night he attended his very first football game, and of course it was to cheer on the Ricebirds. A huge thing occurred at the game. Normally on game nights, Coach Bob is in the zone. You don't talk to him, look at him, or think about him. We were standing with Easton on the track because the stands were too wild for him, and at half time the boys and coaches ran right past us into the locker room. Brace yourselves for what I am about to say. My dad, the head coach, came over to where we were standing and started talking to Easton. In the middle of the game. It was incredible. Cassie and I were both so shocked we didn't know what to do. So we just stood there awkwardly trying not to make eye contact or too much noise. Some of you may not understand the importance of this event, but it was huge.

Next weekend, I can't believe its that close, is Campbell and Sarah's wedding! I am SO excited! Even though I wasn't asked to be a flower girl like me and Sarah had previously discussed, I am still going to go and make the best of it. Maybe I'll bring my own basket of flowers and scatter them in the aisle on the way to my seat. Just try and stop me. I know it is going to be a beautiful wedding, Zarah seems like she would have it no other way. I can't wait to see all of my family! My love for weddings began with Jenny and Chris's, and ever since then I've been hoping and praying for more family weddings. Hopefully next week flies by so I can get to Big D and begin the party!

This is the flower girl dress that I would wear next weekend if Sarah hadn't crushed my dreams.

Another fun development: Nana Gillis got a facebook! Sorry to say, but I have the coolest Nana around.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Sorry Sorry Sorry

I know I've been a terrible blogger and a few of you have noticed my lack of new posts. But you see I have been incredibly busy with new things in my life and this has prevented me from keeping up with my blog. Caution: this post may be very long.

EASTON IS HERE! This is definitley the most exciting, and awesome new thing in my life. He was born August 9, 2010 at 8:49 PM. He is just perfect. He is so tiny, and cuddly, and precious and I just want to squeeze him all over! I have to admit that when he came out I was slightly concerned with the major conehead he had, but I am happy to report that it has gone down and now he has a perfectly rounded, normal sized head. Here is the stud muffin on his first day of life.I had the privelege to stay with Cassie, Scotty, and Easton the first couple of days that they were home from the hospital and it was just great. Easton and I bonded, so obviously I will be his favorite aunt forever. My position as an aunt was not official until Easton decided to squirt me while we were changing his diaper. Normally this would have completely grossed me out, but being an aunt has caused me to mature and realize that I have certain responsibilities, and being squirted on during a diaper change happens to be one of them. He is THE cutest baby ever! And if you don't agree, I'll kill you.

I never thought I could love someone so much so fast, but I fell hard for this guy. We enjoy taking naps together, and talking about our futures, and eating every 2 to 3 hours. We are perfect for each other. Easton is my main man, my squeeze, my boo, and I love love love him. I just got home from visiting him in Austin and I'm already planning the day I can go back to see him! He is my favorite.

Now onto some other not so exciting things. Summer is coming to an end and I start school in a week. Boo. School is silly and ruins my life. Anyways. I moved into my new home last Sunday and I love it! It is SO much nicer than the nasty Trails apartment that I lived in last year. My room is pretty small, but its livable and cozy. I'm still living with the same girls as last year and I still love them all to death. I got VERY lucky with these girls, I could have ended up with some psycho who likes to sacrifice chickens in her bedroom or something. But instead I have Megan, Kinsey, and Alyssa forming the SMAK household.

I'm in the process of looking for a job in College Station, and it is pretty tough. I'm used to looking for jobs in El Campo where everybody knows who I am, and where I pretty much already have the job before I go in for an interview. It is cut throat in College Station. For every job position I have applied for at least 75 other people also have applied. Obviously, I am the best candidate for every job out there, but these employers must be stupid and blind and can't see that. But whatever, I'm not bitter. If I don't find one soon, hopefully my sistercuzins will put in a good word for me at the Pita Palace.

So here's to babies, family, new homes, and job hunting. Hope everybody has a great first day of school. Make sure to pack your backpacks, pick out a cute outfit, and buy your teacher an apple!

Tongue Tied

It has been 4-ever since I have blogged, and I am really sorry about that. But it is hard to continue to create masterpieces every day! There is so much pressure to be awesome. I woke up this morning and had the urge to blog, but I couldn't think of anything exciting to write about. Then I remembered that all of my thoughts are brilliant and my life is so exciting that anything I write would be fabulous. Here are some things that I have been enjoying these past few weeks and some things that I am looking forward to, so you should too.

The Tudors
Treadmills

Sonic Happy Hour

My new home in C-stat

Seeing these girls

And most of all I CANT WAIT for baby Easton to be here! You better believe there will be an entire blog with pictures following his birth. One more thing I am excited about, Kyle and his girlfriend who I affectionately refer to as Morgy Porgy finally have pictures together on Facebook! If you remember in my previous blog dedicated to their relationship, I said that they would soon have a "couples" album filled with pictures displaying their love, and now it is there! Check it out if you don't believe me. Have a great August everyone!

My Life Is So Glamorous

I spent my weekend jetsetting across the United States. And when I say across the United States, I mean a few states up and over to Colorado. Vail, Colorado to be exact. My mother and I vacationed to this swanky spot for our family friend's wedding. It was my very first time to fly and to go to Colorado so I was very excited! We arrived in Vail Thursday night after being delayed for an hour at the Dallas airport. I know my cousins were jealous of my trip, so I'm positive they had some part in the conspiracy to keep me out of Colorado. Jerks. We ate at Russel's Steak House that night for dinner and then went to Mickey's piano bar afterwards to enjoy some jazz and drinks. Because we are fancy like that.Too early Friday morning, Lisa and I woke up and met up with our new friends, Page and Sonya to go white water rafting. A very rad, surfer looking dude named Scott picked us up from our hotel and drove us 30 minutes to Timberline Rafting's headquarters. We were suited up with splash jackets, life jackets, helmets, booties, and paddles. For all you haters out there that make fun of the size of my head I would like you all to know I wore a medium sized helmet. I won't mention what size my mom wore, as that would more than likely embarrass her. Hey bigger heads mean bigger brains, right mom? We cruised along the Colorado river for about 3 hours before coming to our final destination and a BBQ cookout. The scenery was absolutely beautiful! I highly recommend rafting at some point in your life, don't be a chicken.
Friday night was the rehearsal dinner. It was so nice! The food was delicious, the decorations were so pretty, and there was an open bar, not that I participated in using it but I know that everybody else there was truly enjoying the free liquor. The only snag in the evening was when the bride's mother gave a toast that lasted and lasted and lasted and lasted..you get the point. I won't judge her because I know she was excited about her daughter getting married, but when everybody's eyes start to get that glazed over look, its time to stop talking. Saturday morning we woke up early, once again, and took the gondola to the top of the mountain. I know I sound like a broken record, but it was a beautiful view! I really have never seen anything like it. We took tons of pictures and then headed back down the mountain, where we did some shopping in all the little boutiques. The area we were in was designed to look like a Swedish village so everything was very cute. I felt very fancy and important all weekend just being there. We bought some cute fleece jackets, t-shirts, coffee mugs, and of course a surprise for Easton. After enjoying some marble slab ice cream we headed back to the hotel to start primping for the wedding.
The wedding was beautiful, of course. The ceremony was short and sweet, just like I like them. The reception was awesome. We had assigned tables with place cards (woah) and fancy schmancy place settings with about 100 utencils. I had no idea which ones to use when, I probably looked so uneducated! We had lamb for dinner, which I will never eat again. I guess some people like eating completely raw food, but not me. The band was awesome and everybody danced all night long, even my mother how embarrassing! After several of Dave's attempts to set me up with two not so attractive guys, and eating way too much wedding cake it was time to wish the bride and groom off! Instead of rice or birdseed they had sparklers, which I thought was really cool. It was a truly "magical" night as my mom's friend Teresa would say.
We headed back to Texas and to reality Sunday morning. It was an awesome weekend! I love weddings, food, Vail, mountains, my mom, rafts, and no humidity. I would go back in a heart beat. Oh and a little fun fact, hardly anything in Colorado is air conditioned! For example, our hotel, restaraunts, and wedding chapel had no air conditioning! Good thing it was relatively cool during the days.

I love all of you, my faithful blog readers!

Nice to meet you, Alex

No I am not referring to some new, hot guy that I met and fell in love with. I am talking about tropical storm Alex. It was a hurricane, but according to channel 13's weather forecast I just watched at 7:59 AM it has downgraded to a tropical storm. What a wimp. If you are going to ruin my work schedule and weekend with your rain I say go all out, be a man, be a hurricane. Today is a depressing day for this storm to hit. It was supposed to be our last day of swim lessons for our 2nd session. We were supposed to be done! Instead, we will have to work again tomorrow, if the weather is better that is. I love my job, but I need a break from the boogers and kicks in the stomach and scratches on my arms. Yeah, bet you didn't know teaching kids to swim was so violent. On a bright note, I do have fun plans for the 4th of July weekend. Of course it will be probably be raining the entire time, but I will not let it get me down! My very best friend Bryce (yes he is a boy and he is just a friend, deal with it) and his family rented a bay house for the weekend and me and Emily are going to stay with them. The plan is to fish, go to the beach, tan, eat, and fish some more. Bryce is determined to turn me into a pro fishergirl by the end of the weekend. I'm not even kidding when I say that he has asked me to come over for "casting lessons" everyday this week, AND he read an article about taking girls fishing. Obviously, I have not participated in any casting lessons because that is just dumb, and as for the fishing article well, I don't think anything will prepare Bryce for what he's getting himself into by taking Emily and I fishing. I have the attention span of a 5 year old and Emily is probably the dumbest person in the world. And I say that with love. All I'm sayin is if I don't catch a fish I will be real mad. Like someone will have a hook to the face and be pushed in the water mad. There are some fireworks to enjoy just in case the weather prevents you from seeing them this weekend. Or in case your life isn't as great as mine and you don't have anywhere to watch a spectacular light show like this.

One last thing. I got the text yesterday welcoming baby Colin James McDavid to the world. I am so excited for KK, Dax, and big brother Reese! Bailey did us all a favor and posted pics of Colin and the happy family on facebook, and I must say he is precious. I can't wait to meet him!

Have a happy 4th of July, America. And stay dry!

You're From a Small Town When...

You have to drive 2 miles on a dirt road to get to a party. The party is in a barn. With giant tractors and farm equipment inside the barn. And some guy's definition of "dressing up" to go out is tucking his t-shirt into his Wrangler jeans and throwing on his "good" baseball hat.
Okay, so this is not at all what the barn looked like where we celebrated some of my good friends' birthdays last night, but I know that when I tell people that we have parties in barns this is an image that pops into their heads. I love the completely shocked and confused faces of people when they find out that, yes, in order to have a party you must travel 20 minutes out of town down back dirt roads to a barn in the middle of nowhere. Sadly, most barns are not painted a bright red with white trim on the windows and doors. No, they are mostly just big buildings made out of boring gray material. And no, these barns are not filled with cute, cuddly animals. They contain giant, dangerous machines and dirty, heavy tools. First rule of barn partying, tractors and tools are not toys. We may or may not have learned this the hard way. Yeah, imagine trying to have a friendly conversation with a long lost friend while standing next to one of those monsters. Last night, the youth of EC stepped it up a notch. Not only was there a huge barn party, but it also had a theme! Neon was the look of the night. Neon socks, hats, hair, shirts, underwear (come on girls, no need to show these), and even some neon vests hopefully borrowed and not stolen from the shopping cart roundup crew of El Campo's Wal Mart (super Wal Mart may I add). There were blacklights and strobe lights and glow bracelets galore. Don't judge me all you big city slickers, but it was a lot of fun! I wouldn't say that a barn would be my first choice for a party, but when you need a place big enough for a lot of people, and don't want to mess anything nice up, then they are a fabulous location! I convinced my roomie Alyssa, who is from the metropolis San Antonio, to join me in attending her very first party in a barn once, but it was a very bad experience, so don't ask her opinion on them. I don't think anybody who is from a bigger city would understand or enjoy the experience. It takes a person with very limited options for entertainment to truly embrace and accept this complete redneck and country atmosphere in which we are forced to party.

On a side note, Happy Father's Day to my dearest daddy! To celebrate, we ate hamburgers and cake, and he is now "watching" golf while taking a nap in the recliner. Hope all the fathers and fathers to be are having a great day! Love you dad!

Hope everyone has a great week. Barn parties rule!

Oh hey, what's up family?

It is Sunday afternoon. Sunday afternoon after a fabulous week and weekend with my friends and family. This past week was our first week of swimming lessons. Surprisingly, we made it through without any major accidents or traumatizing events. Some may consider a child slipping while trying to dive and falling head first into the pool while simultaneously hitting/scraping his knees on the side a traumatizing event, but not me. I am a professional, you see, and these things happen. You just have to scoop the crying kid up out of the pool, say "Good job! That was almost a perfect dive!", and carry on with the lesson. Luckily no parents were there to witness this, not that I'm worried about a lawsuit or anything. Thursday night my mother and I journied to Austin, Texas to visit my assistant principal/pregnant sister Cassie, her husband Scotty, and their mentally challenged dog Lex. Friday morning Cassie had a doctors appointment, which I did not attend due to the rediculous earliness of the appointment. Everything is just dandy with her and baby Easton. Then we headed to a day care, because being the working woman she is, Cassie will not be staying home to take care of Easton. She has a school to run people. The day care seemed nice, but lets just say that you will not be needing to purchase any Lutheran Day Care bumper stickers or t-shirts anytime soon! That night all of my family came to the Rice's home for a fajita fiesta dinner. I love when we can all get together! It is so loud and so crazy, but so fun! My cousin Gracyn shared her love of karate, tumbling, and dancing with us, which I must say was pretty impressive. Of course mature Whitley had to jump in when Shakira came on TV and show us her moves. Whit, just let someone else have the spotlight for once ok? Gracyn couldn't compete with your robot moves! At the end of the night I was stuffed and tired, but it was a great time!
Always working!Sistercuz love!
Saturday morning was Cassie's very first baby shower! It was so much fun. Easton got so many presents, and from what I hear and see in pictures the jealousy I was feeling was very obvious. I mean, it has always been ALL about me and now I'm having to share my spotlight with a baby?? Its not even fair. But whatever, I'm not bitter. Cassie had a good time (I think), and she got some pretty good advice for her upcoming motherhood. Carley has a lot of wisdom when it comes to what you should and shouldn't do when you have kids, so if anyone ever has any questions I would recommend giving her a call first. After the shower we dined at Kerbey Lane Cafe. I'm sad to say that I did not get french toast, which was SO dumb of me. But, my chicken sandwich was good I guess. My very full of life cousin Gracyn sat by Carley and I, and we had a pretty eventful time. She "read" the menu to us (I had no idea that Kerbey Lane was such a Christian place), she "tickled" us with a flower, and made a poisonous drink for us to enjoy. It was a real hoot at our end of the table! That evening my mother, Cassie, and I enjoyed a showing of the Wizard of Oz. We have been going to a lot of musicals lately, because we are such cultured and classy women. It was a really great show, even though I think my performance in Sprucey the Blue Christmas Tree was far superior to Dorothys'. See I can have school spirit if I want to.
You wish your family looked this good!

My weekend was great. My family is great. Cheese dip is great. Swimming is great. But most of all I am great. PEACE!

3 Weeks Down

I've been home in lovely EC for about 3 weeks now. I managed to experience all of the fun night life and activities this tiny town has to offer within the first 12 hours that I was here, so the rest of my time has been spent doing nothing or being bored, or both. Don't get me wrong I'm loving being home with the fam, but come on managers of EC, can't we get something fun to do around here? Like a huge waterslide in the middle of town, or better yet just build a lake for me to take my yacht on. Actually, I'm pausing the creation of this blog so that I can compose a letter suggesting these minor improvements to the mayor of my city, who is also my good friend's dad! Hi Mr. Young! This past weekend I made a trip to College Station to see my friends I left behind. Shockingly, my friend Emily didn't back out like she always does and she joined me for my vacay. We used Shannon's discount at the bookstore, ate at La Bodega, hung out at my EX apartment (ew), tanned by the pool, and ate a huge baked potato. It was a wild time!
Not quite what my potato looked like, but I bet its still making you want one. Yesterday my mother and I went shopping at the Galleria in Houston, because we are rich. If you are a girl, which is probably only who reads my blog, then you know that when you shop you don't always have success. It is because of this fact that shopping and I do not get along. Even on my best days when I think I'm looking real good I can put on a shirt that makes my body look like I've been eating way too many of the potatoes mentioned above and I just want to call it quits. This of course happened to me yesterday, but fortunately my very wise mom did not let us leave after the first store we visited so I did manage to find some very cute and flattering outfits. This is Latino Stacey in one of the dresses I purchased. Except the dress I bought is solid purple and not this scary floral print, I have taste people. Then after shopping, some friends and I went fishing. It was not successful and very boring. I'll probably end up being convinced to go again because I have nothing better to do, but really why do people find it fun to sit there holding a fishing rod for hours and never have a bite? We were there for 3 hours and only caught one fish which we let go once we got the hook out of his eye, poor baby. Fishing is one thing I will never understand.

Before I end this blog I would like to give a shout out to my father, President Bob Gillis. He thinks that nobody will know I even have a dad because he has not been featured in one of my blogs yet. Well, this is for you dad! Bob Gillis is a legend around here. He is head coach of the all star football team the El Campo Ricebirds, and is also the president/past president of the Texas High School Coaches Association. Talk about running the world. Ya know how people say "You are more and more like your mother everyday!" well I am the opposite. My mom tells me I am becoming more and more like my father every day. Hopefully that doesn't mean I'll have gray hair and be sporting his infamous combover anytime soon! It was hard going through highschool having a dad as a head coach. Boys were scared to talk to me, invite me to hang out, and even to date me because my dad had extreme power over them. I wouldn't change that for anything though, but only because my extremely good looks and charming personality convinced TONS of guys to get over my dad being their head coach and to date me anyways. We have a lot of fun together, mostly quoting movies and making fun of my mom. I love him very much!

There we are looking our best for graduation. Doesn't he look so proud? That is all for now.

A Stallion No More

A lot of you may find this as hard to believe as I did when I received the text message earlier this afternoon. My brother, Kyle Gillis, has a girlfriend. Yes. A real life, facebook official, basketball playing girlfriend. Sorry ladies, better luck next time because this guy is taken! This may not be a big deal to most people, but obviously it is somewhat of a huge deal for my big bro otherwise why would I be blogging about it. Kyle, the former stallion, has always been a ladies man. Every time I talked to him it seemed like he had just met a new girl, which was obviously due to his Professor status at Texas State. Go Bobcats! Anytime I would actually remember a girls name to ask him about, he would already have met a new one to talk about. Morgan if you read this don't worry, it's all about you now girl! I could tell something was different when he brought Morgan to Easter to meet our whole family. Bringing her wasn't what was weird, it was the fact that after he brought her I kept hearing her name pop up in our conversations. You see, usually if a girl got too close to the family Kyle would move on. But oh no, Morgan had stolen his heart.

There they are! I was forced to steal their profile pictures from facebook because, being a new couple and all they don't have any pictures together yet. I'm sure there will be a whole album full of them soon though! Don't they just look fabulous together, I mean really just try and find a better looking couple! Besides me and my future boyfriend, we will be way hotter. Anyways. They have so much in common. They love working out, watching documentaries on food processing, Texas State Bobcats, the daquiri barn, hanging out with me, eating healthy, did I mention working out? Match made in heaven, huh? I was chatting with Kyle (BB1) earlier today about how much his life has changed since accepting that relationship request on facebook. I could just hear the difference in his voice, he just sounded like a boyfriend! He was already giving me relationship advice and everything. I couldn't be happier for them! This blog may be weird to read to some people because becoming boyfriend/girlfriend shouldn't be that huge of a deal, but for Kyle and Morgan it is. It was about time they decided to take the plunge and make it official, its not like we weren't already calling her his girlfriend anyways. Luckily now my Nana won't have to introduce her as Morgan, the girl from Amarillo. She is officially Morgan, Kyle's girlfriend (woah crazy!) Relationships rule!

Summer Lovin

Don't you just love those days that you don't have to put on any makeup, and you don't have any plans, and you can just lounge around the house and be lazy? I plan to make this an everyday thing this summer. I'm not exactly sure if that will be possible considering I have a job and will be taking summer school, but you better believe my weekends will consist of doing absolutely nothing! My summer started last Wednesday at 2:00 PM. My friends and I put together a pool party at 2818's pool. It was a huge success. We had a great turnout and I had my first experience buying charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill. For any of you smokers out there, I also purchased my first lighter so hit me up if you need a light! But please stop smoking, you are killing yourself. Anyways, it was a lot of fun to hang out with friends and relax after a hard week of studying for finals.

I moved home Friday for the summer. I am glad to be home, but will miss my new home in good ol' CS. Cassie, Scotty, and Lex came to EC on Friday evening. It is always a lot of fun when we all get together. Especially planning and talking about when Easton will be born! Saturday was a pretty relaxing day. Kyle and his "friend" Morgan got to town and immediately went to work out. Way to make me feel horrible about myself guys. My mom, Cassie, Scotty and I went to see Iron Man 2. This was my second time to see it, but it was still pretty good. On Sunday our family came to celebrate mother's day and my Pepaw's birthday. So what if it was a week late? We celebrate on our own schedule! It was fun as usual seeing everybody, even though I always eat way too much and end up exhausted and feeling sick. But it was still a good time. Hopefully the rest of my summer will continue to be as fun as this weekend was, but probably not. I am in El Campo after all, its known for the Ricebirds not for fun.

-Stars out!
