Alyssa

This is a shout out to my roomie Alyssa Brooke Bisson. She is in the room next to me "studying" but we are also skyping. If you haven't skyped before do it. Its mind blowing fun. She has always wanted a shout out in my blogs and I always forget so I'm making a special one just for her. So here you go Alyssa my dearest, your very own blog for all the world to read! In a few minutes Alyssa and I will be getting ourselves in shape with our favorite workout video. Tonight the workout of choice will be Latin dancing! Aribaaa!! If you need to get that butt in shape grab your sombrero and maracas and head on over to the Trails for this fabulous dancing experience.

Glee

No, this blog is not about the show Glee even though I love it dearly. I am simply watching this fabulous show as I compose this blog, which is why it seemed fitting to title it this way. This blog is dedicated to being alone. Alone. The word does not have a very good connotation. Sometimes even saying it sounds depressing. However, being alone is not always a bad thing. I am alone at my apartment tonight, and was inspired to write about the good side of being alone because I am enjoying my hours of solitude. There are SO many wonderful things you can do when you are alone and away from the judging eyes of the outside world. Here is a list of things you should try, but please, only when you are alone.

1) Watch 3 shows at the same time on TV
2) Sing the songs from Glee at the top of your lungs
3) Practice your salsa dance moves
4) Try on all of your roommates clothes and do your best runway model walk around the room
5) I would say walk around naked, but lets get real that is never okay
6) Perfect your British accent
7) Learn to breakdance
8) Cough WITHOUT covering your mouth (gasp!)
9) Sob uncontrollably during the save abused animals commercial
10) Pretend you are a body builder and practice flexing your muscles in the mirror, including your behind

So there you have it. 10 fun things to do when you are enjoying some nice, quiet alone time. Being alone can be fun! However, I'm not encouraging becoming a hermit and having no friends. That would just make you a loser. Ew. But if you need to just get away from it all for a night refer back to this list and try a few things out. I promise it will be a terrific time! I won't say which ones, but I've already done 3 things from the list above tonight and I am having a blasty blast over here! Enjoy your night, and enjoy being alone.

Registration or My Worst Nightmare?

Registering for classes at A&M is a huge deal. I'm talkin certain days and certain times for certain people, depending on your class year, what college you are in, and what major you are in that college, if you are taking honors classes, if you are a part time worker, if you are an athlete, and probably what color hair you have I don't know. The point is it is rediculous. My registration date is April 26 at 7 AM. Yep 7 in the MORNING! Why is it necessary for me to sign up for classes at that time. I would wait until later, but if you don't register at your exact time then your classes may fill up and you may not get to take anything that you want or need. Registration started this past week, meaning that I am registering pretty much last for my classes. What this means folks, is that by the time I get to register, all of the good classes, professors, and times will be full and I'll be stuck with Mr. I Don't Speak English at 8 in the morning every day.

Yes, that is me in the 8 AM class mentioned above. Doesn't it seem so fun?? Anyways, I don't understand why signing up for classes that you need has to be so hard. All I want to do is take my classes, and become a teacher. Doesn't seem like such a hard request to me, but its an act of congress to make it happen at this school. And don't even get me started on changing majors! Okay, well since I'm already started I'll elaborate. I started out wanting to be a physical therapist, so I was a Kinesiology major. I quickly decided that "working out" and "training" and "being in shape" just wasn't for me so I decided to change my major to education. Well turns out you have to apply for the education degree plan. Go figure. So I say no problem, I'll apply. Wrong. Transfer students have to stay in their original major one semester before they can change. Okay no problem. Wrong again, because since I had to apply for the education major in the Spring semester I won't be accepted until fall of 2010, making me a "closet" kines major, and I can't change into general studies because I have too many hours for this college. This is a huge deal apparently because I've had to go see my advisor about 5 or 6 times over it, and each time its the same conversation. "Stacey, you can't be a kines major and take classes for education." "Yes, Christina, I know but there's nothing I can do about it because I've applied and can't be accepted until the summer." "Okay well there's a certain date that you will have to be out of this college." "Great, I'll be out as soon as I can." JEEZ!! So I have submitted my application, but since I am still not technically an education major I won't be allowed to sign up for half of the classes I will need next semester because those classes are for majors only. Talk about frustrating! Now I realize not everybody has this many problems with registering, but the whole thing seems pretty rediculous. Just let me take my classes and graduate already! Maybe I should become a movie star. That seems a lot easier. Well wish me luck registering this Monday, because I know it will end in an all out fist fight with my computer. Lots of luck to all my fellow A&M registers..don't let the system get you down!

Sunday Blues

I love weekends. I live for weekends. But with weekends always come my Sunday blues. I've gone through 20 years and 4 months of weekends, but I never get used to feeling sad on Sunday afternoon knowing the next day is Monday and another week of class. I'm especially sad this weekend is over because it was EXTRA fun. Wondering why? Because my life is awesome. Here is why my weekend was 10 times better than yours.

Thursday night I hung out with some of my very good friends. We enjoyed some of the fabulous night life that College Station has to offer. What's up Northgate!! We hit up Daisy Dukes and danced the night away. I never understand why scary guys think its okay to come up to girls and start dancing with them without even introducing themselves. Call me crazy, but I don't want random guys sweat on me. Ew, sorry that was too descriptive. Anyways, despite the rude creepish guys we had a blast!
Friday was pretty awesome, too. It was Carley eve so of course we celebrated. I went to Naked Fish with my cousins and aunt and friends and had my very first sushi experience. It was NUTS! Who would have thought that I would ever be brave enough for this adventure?? But with tons of reassurance from all of my friends and cousins I decided to man up and give it a try. And get this faithful followers, sushi is GOOD! Definitely not my favorite meal, but it wasn't the terrible raw gooey mess of fish that I was expecting. And if you are still terrified to have the sushi experience Naked Fish does have some pretty good pasta that I would recommend. My cousin Embreasty ordered it and I snagged a few bites, so thanks MB! After sushi, we attended Ryan Nemec's ring dunk. He is in love with my cousin Whitley, and let me say that they are SO cute together and SO in love. And I can definitley see why. He looked so manly and hott chugging a huge pitcher of beer in less than 2 minutes. My kind of guy. Anyways, now he is an official Aggie. Or maybe he is just an official senior at A&M? Or maybe dunking your ring has nothing to do with that, I'm not really sure about these traditions. After the dunk we headed back to Carl and Whit's place to hang out and talk. It was a super sweet night.

So now to Saturday. I told you my weekend was great! Saturday I hung out at the apartment with my roomies for most of the day. We were all pretty worn out from our earlier activities so we watched some TV and relaxed in our very nice and fancy estate that we live in. Our personal chef and butler cooked for us and gave us massages all day. Yeah, its a rough life. Saturday was a very special day because Carley turned 20! Call her and talk to her, she sounds so old and mature now. I went to her house and started prepping for her birthday bash. The food was AMAZING! Spinach dip, cheese and crackers, fruit (cut very nicely I must say), pasta, chips, sopapilla cheese cake. Woah, I want to eat it all again. After stuffing ourselves we just hung around and talked, which may not sound fun but I'll have you know that it was a blast! Carley's friends are so funny. Lots of interesting stories were shared but sorry I can't tell because it was girl talk and its all top secret stuff. So stop asking. After Carl's birthday fiesta I went and hung out with some of my EC friends, which was not so fun. But being so awesome, I made the best of it and had fun catching up with some long lost friends.

No fans my weekend is STILL not over because my parents came today, which is Sunday. Oh how I've missed them! They got here around noon today and we enjoyed a very tasty meal at Cheddars. My sistercuz Carley (the 20 year old mentioned above) joined us, and my dad shared some good and some not so good stories from his childhood. Turns out my uncle Scott (Carley's dad) was a bit of a pansy when he was a child. Of course, these stories were coming from my dad who also claimed that as a child my Grandad would hang a piece of chicken from the ceiling and my dad and his brothers would have to fight for it and whoever got it was the only one who got to eat for the night. Needless to say his stories may be slightly embellished. After Cheddars it was off to the movies to see Date Night. I highly recommend this movie. I saw it twice and it was STILL funny. Plus my dad was cackling for the majority of it, so you know its good. After this fabulous cinema adventure we headed to the upscale mall of College Station known as Post Oak. Lots of celebrities shop here. We found my favorite sister a birthday present, but since she is one of my only followers I cannot say what it is. But it is OH so good. Cass you will LOVE it, promise. My dad found a new sports coat, my mom found a lovely sweater, and I found some jewelry and a head band. It was a successful trip. Then my loving parents kindly took me to HEB where I filled my car up with gas and got some groceries. Aren't they the awesomest?! Then sadly they had to go home to their jobs in EC, because they pretty much run the town. And now I am sitting with my roomies watching a movie and relaxing.

This pic is not from this weekend, but is sadly the only one I have on my computer with both of my parents in it at the same time so it will have to do.

So like I said before, my weekend was fantastic. The weekend of all weekends. I am sad that it is over, but next weekend will be great too, so at least I have that to look forward to. I hope that everyone can experience a weekend as good as mine sometime in their lives, but don't count on it. If you read this entire blog, you must really really love me because it is record length long. Well I'm off to do important college things.

TGICT

Thank Goodness Its Carley Thursday!

Today is Carley Thursday! Shout it out!! Carley Thursday is my favorite day of Carley week because there is nothing that I enjoy more than telling the world about my awesome sister cuz and twin Carley Rae Gillis. She will be 20 this Saturday. Woah, talk about being a woman. Carlsbad is one of my very favorite people. She has the kindest heart and is always willing to listen to me ramble on about my very complicated grown up life problems. And no matter what I tell her, she never judges me (or at least she hides it very well). I can talk to her about anything! I know she sounds really great, right? Well I'm only getting started! I wish that I could be like her in many ways. I wish that I had her heighth, her sexy bod, her wit, and most of all I wish that someday soon I can have the same passion for Jesus that she does. That is one of my favorite things about her, she lives her life for Jesus every day. Carcar not only is super funny and super sexy, she drives a first class white Volvo that even the nicest sports car is jealous of. Talk about a pimp-mobile. We pick up all the hotties when we cruise in that beast of a car. If you ever need a lesson on "pimp parking" give her a call, no one I know pimp parks like she does in that Volvo.
Yeah it looks something like that. Jealous? You should be. Carley is a botanist. Ask her anything about plants. Go on, do it. I'm almost positive she knows everything there is to know about flowers and shrubs and trees. Its a gift she was blessed with. She has, however, decided to take another route for her future career and give up her love for botany. She is an English major, and I think she wants to be a writer of some sort? I'm not 100% sure on that, so I'm probably going to call her soon and ask because I need to know. It would make sense for her to be a writer because she is always working on a new piece anytime I see her. She's actually the real author of Twilight and Harry Potter. Yeah, she's that good. Well after writing all this about my beautiful sistercuz it has made me want to hang out with her. Goodbye faithful followers, and don't forget to spread the word that CARLEY RULEZ!
She is a lover of animals.

She is an artist.

She loves family.

And she is a Benefit makeup super model.
If you don't know her, get a life already.

Steph out.

HAMS

Helen, Alyssa, Megan, and Stacey. We are the four best roommates ever. I love my roomies. Why you may ask? Well because they are awesome. Our apartment, however, is not awesome. We live at the Trails at Wolf Pen Creek. Sounds pretty fancy huh? Its a trick. Don't live here. But my nasty apartment is not what this blog is about so I digress. This blog is dedicated to the 3 lovely ladies I share this not so lovely apartment with.
Megan Beth.

This girl has been my other half since we were in the 3's or 4's class in Methodist. (She will know for sure because she remembers more about my childhood than I do) Anyways, Meggi is awesome. I can honestly say that we have been best friends our entire lives. And I don't want to jinx anything, but I have a VERY strong feeling it will stay this way forever. Unless she continues to smack very loudly while she eats, because I just cannot be her friend if she does not grow out of that. (Sorry Meg, that's just how I feel) I think we get along so well because we enjoy doing a lot of the same things, such as eating, listening to Backstreet Boys, jamming to Billy Gillman in the car, watching NCIS and Americas Next Top Model marathons, and the list goes on and on and on and on... People told us not to live together because it would ruin our friendship, but HA we showed them! Megsi is and will always be my bosom buddy (as Anne of Green Gables would put it)
Alyssa Brooke.

Apparently Alyssa and I met at Fish Camp two years ago, but I don't really remember this, so I say I met her one year ago when we started looking for a place to live this year. She is my other roommate Kinsey's (who will be featured next) best friend. Crazy, two sets of besties in the same house! Lyssa-loo is pretty awesome. We got to be really close at the beginning of the year because our other two roommates were always out with their boyfriends and so we were being single ladies together (she has a boyfriend, but he goes to Baylor so she is still my single lady). I think I love her so much because she is just as awkward as I am. Also, we are very close because we both went to Sigma Chi's pledge dance in Waco and dominated on the dance floor. Those Waco girls don't have nothing on College Station ladies! We are incredible dancers, you should see her Jesus Walk. Its like nothing I've ever seen before. She is also the only roomie that will do dance workout videos with me. Soon we will have slender and toned ballet dancer bodies, you just wait! I love my Alyssa and her donkey waffles.

Helen Kinsey.

We call her Kinsey. I met Kins two years ago at Fish Camp. Camp Siddiqui for life! She was the first girl I met when we got with our camps and we had the same bus assignment AND the same cabin. Freaky stuff! It was obvious we were meant to be friends for life. We are actually really rude to each other. She's laying on the couch next to me as I type this and I think we have insulted each other 5 times already. This is why I love her..I am a rude, sarcastic person and she can take it without getting offended. She is my TV show watching buddy. Everyday at 3:00 PM we watch Ellen, and then sing the Gilmore Girls themse song at 4:00. We are so good by the way. I think Kinsey is really cool because she can curl peoples hair with a straightener. That is talent! Wouldn't you be impressed too?? We are really good study partners. We haven't done it much this semester, but last semester we studied together ALL the time and I must say they were the most enjoyable "study" sessions I've ever had. One more reason why I love her..she looks EXACTLY like Kate Winslett, so you know she is hott! I pretty much have a movie star for a roommate, go ahead be jealous.

Well that's all of em. These ladies make it possible for our apartment to be called HAMS. I love them all very much and am glad that we will be friends FOR-EV-ER!

What's Up Blog?

Wow. I did it. I finally did it. I've been telling myself for the past month that I want to start a blog to share the incredibly awesome details of my life and all of my genius thoughts with the world. Well fellow bloggers, that day has come. I think it was my beautiful (and pregnant YAY!) sister Cassie who gave me the final push to start this. I mean come on, if a pregnant assistant principal can do it then so can I! Right? I know that once news of this blog gets around I will have hundreds of faithful followers, so I will update as much as possible. Yes, I am making that vow right here in this very post. Well I'm ending this so that I can move on to more awesome adventures that I can blog about.

Starsy out!
