It's For The Best

Is it really? Is it for the best? If it is, then why does it still suck? People use this excuse all the time to get out of owning up the real reasons why things don't work out. I know I've said it before, but it never really bothered my until recently. I never understood why anybody I told that too didn't understand what I meant by it. Maybe it is because I was always the one that thought whatever I was doing was for the best, and didn't really care what the other person thought about it. The roles have somewhat switched now. Some things in my life have ended, just because it's for the best. No other reasons at all, just because it's the best thing to do. Well you know what? That reason is dumb.

On a brighter note, this weekend is Halloween! Hope everyone has their scary masks, and clown wigs, and trick-or-treat bags ready to go. But don't come to my house, we are in college, we can't afford to buy candy for the neighborhood. Have a faBOOOOOlous weekend.

I'm Back!

It's been forever, I know. But I'm not going to get into why, because in every blog I begin with how stressful my life is and I'm not doing that this time. Why you ask? Because there is too much good stuff going on! Babies, weddings, birthdays, family, and friends...woah that is one awesome list right there. Read on blog followers, you won't be disappointed.

Two of my roommates are now legally allowed to consume alcohol not just at home, but in public places. Kinsey had her first legal drink on October 7, and Megan had hers October 13. It has been very busy around my house with all the birthday celebrations we have been having. Last week, we went to Northgate for Kinsey's birthday where she got to go into the 21 and up bars for the very first time. Unfortunately, I cannot give any details of what she did in these bars or how they look or what types of people she talked to because I was sitting on a bench outside of the bar, looking lonely and very much like a 20 year old. Oh well, she had fun and that is all that matters.
The birthday girl, looking fab.
Most awesome roommates in College Station.

My bestie, Megan Beth Smith, also is now 21! We celebrated yesterday with an amazing song/dance in our kitchen, a "cookie cake", and dinner at Los Cucos. It was a great day, but we will do the real celebrating Saturday night. I was especially happy on Meggie's birthday because if she hadn't been born I would not have a best friend. I mean sure, I probably would have found somebody else because everyone wants to be my friend, but I don't see anybody else wanting to ride around and jam to Billy Gillman. Here is a pic of the birthday girl getting carded for the very first time, and with her first alcoholic beverage. It was a huge moment for us!

Easton is 2 months old now, and still the cutest baby in America. And maybe I'm a little bias, but a lot of people agree with me so its the truth. Last weekend the little stud muffin became an official Ricebird. He went to his very first pep rally, and let me just say I think he had the most spirit there. He was high fiving the football players and doing flips with the cheerleaders, we were all so proud. That night he attended his very first football game, and of course it was to cheer on the Ricebirds. A huge thing occurred at the game. Normally on game nights, Coach Bob is in the zone. You don't talk to him, look at him, or think about him. We were standing with Easton on the track because the stands were too wild for him, and at half time the boys and coaches ran right past us into the locker room. Brace yourselves for what I am about to say. My dad, the head coach, came over to where we were standing and started talking to Easton. In the middle of the game. It was incredible. Cassie and I were both so shocked we didn't know what to do. So we just stood there awkwardly trying not to make eye contact or too much noise. Some of you may not understand the importance of this event, but it was huge.

Next weekend, I can't believe its that close, is Campbell and Sarah's wedding! I am SO excited! Even though I wasn't asked to be a flower girl like me and Sarah had previously discussed, I am still going to go and make the best of it. Maybe I'll bring my own basket of flowers and scatter them in the aisle on the way to my seat. Just try and stop me. I know it is going to be a beautiful wedding, Zarah seems like she would have it no other way. I can't wait to see all of my family! My love for weddings began with Jenny and Chris's, and ever since then I've been hoping and praying for more family weddings. Hopefully next week flies by so I can get to Big D and begin the party!

This is the flower girl dress that I would wear next weekend if Sarah hadn't crushed my dreams.

Another fun development: Nana Gillis got a facebook! Sorry to say, but I have the coolest Nana around.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
